Company history
Growth based on quality and precision
1945
Heinz Hänggi Senior uses his know-how and knowledge to become self-employed, working from his parents' home in Grenchen. His strong determination together with solutions he develops himself quickly establishes him in the field of precision tool making.
1950
The business is expanded with the purchase of the first stamping press. The young company develops well, which is partly due to the fact that his wife, Klara, as well as looking after the household and family, is able to offer support with the office and administration.
1963
Space runs out and the first big step is taken with the building of an additional 130-m2 extension
1972
Even in the recession triggered by the oil crisis the company continues to expand strongly, helped by the commitment of his two sons who have now decided to follow in the footsteps of their father. High quality, innovative solutions to technical problems and extensive know-how make the company invaluable for the strongly diversified Swiss and international customer base. This development leads to new investments.
1973
The production area is doubled and at the same time the first step is taken to relocate to Bettlach.
1978-1981
The business is changed from a sole proprietorship to become Hänggi AG Stanztechnik. A new production facility of around 1,000 m² is planned and in 1981 the company moves to Bettlach.
1985-1986
New capacity is needed and a further expansion of 3,000 m² is undertaken in Bettlach and at the same time the complete production is put together, including the tool making.
1991
A historical year. The senior Hänggi retires and his son, Eugen Hänggi, takes over the company as sole shareholder. At the same time the opportunity is taken to acquire the neighboring industrial building. The facility is converted to be used for precision stamping.
1995
Major development and expansion in the field of microstamping motivate the company to expand and add a further production area of around 1800 m².
2000-2001
The new millennium starts well and as the year progresses, plans for new buildings are already underway.
2003
After a 2-year construction phase the move is made into the new, modern production facility.
2006 (17.05.)
is an important day in the history of the Heinz Hänggi Stanztechnik company. After 61 years, the company is acquired by the American BARNES GROUP INC. and renamed to become a limited liability company (GmbH). More
